Day 1-Fun in Virginia Beach!

10:00am- Stroll along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk!

Head to the Boardwalk, a 3-mile stretch along the beach offering parasailing, surfing, bicycling, swimming and Jet Ski options. This spot offers a stunning oceanfront views. This spot has picturesque beaches, wonderful walking and biking paths, several hotels and dining establishments, historic sites, sculptures and museums.  Many events and concerts are held at the Boardwalk, and it is also great spot for people-watching.

12:00pm- Explore Marine Life!

Check out the sea creatures at Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. The aquarium houses over 800,000 gallons of marine exhibits. Check out the sea mammals, enjoy dolphin and whale-watching, and touch the horseshoe crabs, stingrays and other aquatic life creatures.

3:00pm- Some more history at Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum!

Check out the artifacts and displays about the wildfowl that moved through Eastern Virginia on their migrating paths at the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum.  The museum features the wild birds displays, such as loons, geese, ducks and more, decoys from old times to present day, and hands-on carvings. Do check the Virginia Beach pictorial history on the second floor of the museum.

Head over to the First State Landing Park that oozes history. It is spot where English settlers landed and settled. It is the most visited spot by nature lovers, hikers and cyclist. The park has more than 19 miles of trails for hiking and biking. A great park to explore the nature, wildlife, rare plants, cypress trees, and maritime forest!

1:00pm- Visit Cape Henry Lighthouse!

Cape Henry has two lighthouses. The lights signal about the shipping traffic that goes through the area on the way to ports in Bay and other close by rivers.  It is a historic eighteenth century lighthouse that has tower climbs offering beautiful views of the ocean. The old tower is used for triangulation, and the new one is fully automated.
